This week is Chinese Language Week. As part of this week we read instructions on how to make Chinese lanterns and worked together to create them. We had some trouble ruling the lines but we persevered and got there.

Water Cycle
Last term we had been looking at the water cycle. We identified the main parts of the water cycle and then did some experiments about each part. We also made our own water cycles which we shared at assembly on Friday.
Player of the Day
"Player of the Day"
During the holidays James was awarded the "Player of the Day" for his rugby league team. He was awarded the trophy for his awesome defence.

Te Reo Maori
On Monday mornings, the lovely Mrs Jones comes into Room 11 and helps us learn Maori. We have been learning to play a Maori hand game called "Hei Tama Tu Tama".
Today we learnt a new hand game called "Hipitoitoi."

Problem Solving in Room 11
Term 2 .... This week in Maths we worked together to problem solve. Once we worked out the problem we then shared our mathematical thinking with the class.
Problem: A restaurant makes a super-long table by placing 4 normal tables end to end for a big party. Each normal table usually seats 6 people around it.
How many people can sit at the super-long table?
